Relay
Relay is one of the track competitions. It depends more on team work and high coordination then speed.
Rules :
- Each team must be made up of 4 players.
- Race can’t start with less than 4.
- Hand of must be within the designated area which is 15 meters long.
- If hand of occurs before or after the 15 meters team will be disqualified.
- If the baton falls down, the same player must pick it up.
- If a runner touches the line of the lane the result will be canceled.
Techniques:
- There are two kinds of hand of’s:
- Low: in which the bearer of the baton move his arm from down to up.
-High handing: which the bearer of the baton move his hand from up to down.
- The fastest runner in the team finishes the race and the second fastest finishes it.
- One of the techniques that the curves runners use is to run in the internal side of the lane to reduce the distance.
- A runner must hold the baton from the end to leave enough space for his partner to grab a hold of.
- Second, third and forth runners must start running before the holder reaches them so they won’t collide.
