INTENT

The intent of this policy is to give clear guidelines to students on the procedure to be followed when completing IGCSE, GCSE, AS and A level coursework.

 POLICY
 
The school expects all students to comply with the following in relation to coursework:

  • All coursework will be handed in to the Deputy Headmaster's office twenty days before the final dates published by the Examination Boards. These dates will be published each year of the school calendar.
  • All coursework must be handed in to the relevant teacher thirty days before the final dates published by the Examination Boards
  • Extensions will not be given, unless agreed by the Headmaster.
     
  • Students who fail to submit their coursework by the published date will forfeit any privileges accorded to them, lose any positions of responsibility they may have and be required to stay in school during break times and on Thursday mornings, until the work is completed.  
  • The school will refuse to submit coursework to the relevant Examination Boards if it is so late as to miss the Board imposed deadline. This will result in failure of the external examination.
     
  • All coursework must be presented in the format laid down by the subject area. The school reserves the right to refuse to submit such coursework that fails to do this.
     
  • Staff will not enter into discussion, or suggest improvements to coursework after the submission date has elapsed.
     
  • The school reserves the right to pass on charges for the postage of late submissions to the student.
     
  • By submitting the coursework, all students agree that the material contained in it is their own work throughout. The school takes no responsibility for plagiarism or other forms of cheating.
  • The decision of the school with regard to the submission of coursework is final.
