Quotations

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.
-Y.B. Yates

A bad attitude cancels all positive skills. -Anonymous

Our victory and our loss lie within ourselves. -Epictetus

I knelt to pray but not for long,

I had too much to do.

I had to hurry and get to work

For bills would soon be due.

So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,

And jumped up off my knees.

My Muslim duty was now done,

my soul could rest at ease.

All day long I had no time

to spread a word of cheer.

No time to speak of Allah to friends,

they’d laugh at me I’d fear.

No time, no time, too much to do,

that was my constant cry,

no time to give to souls in need.

But at last the time, the time to die.

I went before the Lord,

I came,

I stood with downcast eyes,

for in his hands God held a book;

It was the book of life.

God looked into his book and said

your name I cannot find.

I once was going to write it down….

But never found the time

For the sake of Allah

Academic Session Commences..

School Timings

KG1, KG2 Nursery: 8am – 1pm – Saturday to Wednesday

Grades 1 – 4: 8am – 2:40pm – Saturday to Tuesday, 8am – 1:55pm – on Wednesday.

Grades 5 – 11: 8am – 2:50pm – Saturday to Tuesday, 8am – 2:05pm – on Wednesday.

It is compulsory that everyone reaches school on time. As we start our day with an assembly, it is imperative that all students are here to listen to important announcements or directions given for a particular day. The school gates in all three sections will be closed at 8am after which we will not let any late-comers in. Parents are requested to ensure that they collect their children promptly at the end of the school day, as we do not have any supervision after 3pm. All our school buses will leave the respective campuses by 3pm. The school does not accept responsibility for children who remain in the school grounds after 3 pm.

School bags

There is a growing concern these days that students are carrying way too much weight on their backs. If school bags are not used properly, muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the back can be strained. With over 30% of school aged children reporting that they experience frequent backaches and pains it is important to choose and use a back pack properly. Ideally, a school bag would have several compartments as this helps distribute the weight better. Also, instead of carrying everything one owns in the schoolbag, try packing the bag according to the timetable. Roller Bags will not be allowed this academic year. This is in the interest of the students’ safety.

Confiscated items:

Mobile telephones, unsuitable reading material, video games, jewelry will be confiscated and returned on the last day of the academic year.

Volunteers Need
Looking for parents that have extra time to assist at school again this year. If you are interested to extend a helping hand please call reception, and we will send a form to be completed.

Extra help may include; assisting with House activities, supervising outings, helping with school programs and a reading program with our young students.

Parent volunteers will provide a rich supplement to our co-curricular activities, and I would encourage parents to become involved as much as they can be.

If you want your children to keep their feet on the ground, put some responsibility on their shoulders. — A. Buren
