Office of the Headmaster
May 1 st 2008
Dear Wesgreen Community and Students of Grades 2 – 10,
The ‘End of Year Examinations’ are right around the corner, and I would expect all students to make the most of the time that remains. Attached to this circular is your timetable. Revision Topics are to serve as a guide. In addition to the revision topics one should review journals, homework, textbooks, any quizzes and tests that you have had thus far. Revision suggestions and the school policy on Behavior during examinations for students are listed on the school website – and posted in your class, as well. Revision Topics will be posted on the school webpage by Saturday 3 rd May 2008 by 1:00pm, www.wesgreen.net. If you need a printout do collect one from your Building Receptionist. This should be a time to show yourself and your family, exactly what you are capable of.
The End of Year Examination Schedule will start as indicated. In Nursery, KG1, KG2 and Grade 1 no formal examinations are scheduled; however these classes will attend school as indicated on the school calendar and may leave school once their brothers or sisters have completed their examination. (A separate circular to this effect will be sent)
You will also notice that there is only one day when some classes do not have examinations. These days are Study Days, when you do not have to come into school, but can spend your time revising at home . I expect you to use that time well to make sure you are well prepared for your next examination. Remember, these days ARE NOT holidays! If you would like to come to school on one of your Study Days to talk over a problem with your teacher do wear your full school uniform and telephone the school to make an appointment.
Remember school starts at the normal time 7:45am and you would have to wait in the Examination Hall until the end of the exam, for senior grades and in classrooms for junior/primary grades. Those students that have only a second / third session must report to school at least thirty minutes before the scheduled time. Late comers will not be given any extra time and every student as stated earlier must report on time.
The buses will be leaving early for those of you who use them, please make arrangements to be picked up early if you come to school by car.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you success in the examinations and urge you to use the remaining time wisely. For those that may need to sit for re-examination the same will take place on June 17 TH and 18 TH – failure to appear at this time will have dire consequences. Any student obtaining less than 50% on the final exam will need to re-sit the exam. Failure of four (4) or more subjects will result in repeating the Academic Year, as per regulations of the Ministry of Education.
Sincerely,
J. Calafato
