WIS , Al Qarain Primary Campus to open…
|
On behalf of our Board of Governors I am pleased to announce that Wesgreen International School, Sharjah will open a new primary campus in the Al - Qarain area, for the academic year 2007— 2008. Located 10 minutes from the main campus the new primary campus will enroll students from Nursery to grade 4. After passing grade four, students will be considered for admission in the main campus of Wesgreen International School either in the Boys Secondary Section or the Girls Secondary Section, respectively. At the new campus we will see a duplication of Wesgreen School’s syllabus, curriculum, calendar, timings and programs. The fees for the first academic year will be at a subsidized rate, and thereafter will be the same as the main campus. يسرني أن أعلن لكم باسم مجلس أمناء مدرسة ويس جرين الدولية في الشارقة عن افتتاح الفرع الثاني لمدرسة ويس جرين في منطقة القرائن وذلك للعام الدراسي 2007 -2008 . يبعد الفرع الجديد عشر دقائق عن الفرع الرئيسي وسيضم الطلبة من مرحلة الحضانة وحتى الصف الرابع, بعدها يلتحق الطلبة الناجحون في الصف الرابع بمبنى ثانوية البنات أو ثانوية البنين.ستُطبق في الفرع الجديد كافة أنظمة مدرسة ويس جرين بما في ذلك المنهج, والتقويم المدرسي, والدوام المدرسي . أما بالنسبة للرسوم الدراسية فإنه سيتم تخفيضها للسنة الدراسية الأولى فقط في ذلك الفرع على أن تكون نفس قيمة الفرع الرئيسي للسنة الثانية.للإطلاع على موقع الفرع الجديد أرجو زيارة الموقع الإلكتروني للمدرسة www.wesgreen.net بالإضافة

|
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Wesgreen Highlights...events...activities…
Primary Section News… The Second Football Little League was held from Feb 18th to April 6th. Both the primary and secondary sections participated. There was also a swimming course available to the primary section, as well as to boys from Gr. 5 to 8. A horse riding course, similarly, was also available; its duration was from Feb. 11th to April 25th, and was open to all grades and sections. Secondary Section News… A number of football matches and tournaments as well as cricket matches were held. On March 19th, a friendly football match took place between WIS and Scientific Research School of Dubai. Wesgreen lost 1– 4. The Boys Section participated in the Chevrolet Inter-sports Club football tournament and came 4th out of a total of 18 teams. Another friendly football match, on April 5th, with Scientific Research School ended in a 0– 2 loss for Wesgreen. However, Wesgreen picked up the pace, and on March 6th, concluded their friendly match against Al Maarifa School of Sharjah with a 3– 0 victory. The Boys Section also participated in the S.E.S football tournament. WIS joined the Ministry of Education, sporting activities this year. Along with several schools, our students had the chance to participate and compete in many different sporting events around Sharjah. In the track and field tournaments which were held at Al Thiqah Club on March 31 st , Hassan Baghash, a Grade 11 student won the gold medal in the long jump, with a distance of 5.53m. WIS also hosted the annual Sharjah Basketball Tournament where both boys and girls competed in the month-long tournament. The final match for the boys schools was played by Sharjah American School and Far East School where Sharjah American School won the gold, the Girls competition is still underway. And finally, football team’s under 15 team, played against Al Zahoor Private School and Wesgreen team won the game!

| Our Salat Project…
Our Salat Project/ The Prayer Project commenced on 15 th April, 2007 in all the three sections of our school. The relevance of prayer and information on Islam was imparted by means of displays on verses from the Holy Qur’an and Hadith. Audio tapes conveying Islamic lectures along with hats, t-shirts and brochures bearing pictures of mosques and reminding our students to “Thank God Today” were distributed in all sections. Forms on the Salat Tree were distributed to our students to follow at home under parental guidance. “How to make prayers appealing to our children” was posted on our website in Arabic and English. Children were asked to bring to school their Salat uniform so as to encourage their spirituality. This has led to a tremendous increase in our students praying as well as creating an interest in getting to know Islam better.
